Project Objectives

This project was created as a video test for Will Cannon, Founder and CEO of UpLead, a B2B sales intelligence platform focused on helping sales teams find verified business contacts and leads.

The goal was to create a simple but polished talking head video for YouTube, centered around cold email, B2B outreach, and the role of UpLead in helping businesses improve their sales prospecting process.

Because Will Cannon’s personal brand is strongly connected to cold email, outbound sales, and bootstrapped SaaS growth, the video needed to feel clear, credible, and direct — not overly produced or distracting. His own site positions UpLead as a B2B data platform for verified contact data, launched in 2017.

Content Planning

The creative direction focused on keeping the video simple, educational, and audience-friendly.

As a talking head format, the priority was clarity: making sure the message around cold email and UpLead felt easy to follow, professional, and suitable for a YouTube audience interested in sales, lead generation, and B2B growth.

The video was structured to support Will Cannon’s authority as a founder and cold email expert, while keeping the format clean and direct.

Post-Production

The edit focused on pacing, clarity, and retention.

For a talking head YouTube video, the most important part is not adding unnecessary effects — it is making the content feel smooth, watchable, and easy to understand. The editing helped sharpen the rhythm, remove friction, and keep the viewer focused on the message.
